The Ostpro is the largest sales and order fair for products of Eastern Germany and platform for companies respectively for resident companies in the new German federal states. It was founded in 1991 to offer the forgotten products from the former GDR a new presentation and marketing area. With the huge success the fair has become a cult event, which takes place today in several cities in Eastern Germany. Since the first edition, many products have made back their way into the store shelves. An awareness of local products has been created and the great interest and the high demand for the iconic products is as high as ever. The Ostpro is a mecca for those who continue to find a favor in these products. As a pure public exhibition it is open to the general public. The Ostpro in Berlin is the largest of the Ostpro faires and takes place twice a year in the Velodrom. It is divided into the Easter Ostpro with emphasis on products for Easter and the Christmas Ostpro with Christmas products of all kinds up to regional fruit cakes for Christmas. The velodrome is an arena for track cycling and one of the largest event halls in Berlin. It was built for the Berlin bid to host the 2000 Olympic Games by the French architect Dominique Perrault, has an exhibition area of over 45,000 square meters and is very easy accessible by public transportation.

The Ostpro will take place on 3 days from Friday, 31. March to Sunday, 02. April 2017 in Berlin.
