Hello there, buddy. I’m just coming in for a breather in between homeschooling, and I guess I’m not getting any because the entire west coast is on fire, and the air quality is among the worst in the world. Did you know that the presidential election will be held in less than 50 days?

I’m getting off track here. As you may have seen last week, I have a new project that is diverting me from imminent death – the Hood Canal Coastal Cottage – and I have been deeeeeaaaaaa It was only six weeks. However, after we’ve closed, I’ll go through all of those specifics with you.

Let’s talk about bedrooms for a while, shall we? Isn’t it true that we spend a lot of time in them? I usually work from home till the small hours of the morning. The bedrooms are one of the most difficult aspects of the Coastal Cottage for me. My Achilles heel, I believe, is bedrooms (as proven by our guest room in This Old Victorian). And then there’s the master bedroom. But who’s keeping track?) It just seems difficult to come up with something intriguing (without turning to really expensive finishes or design aspects, and remember, we’re on a budget!). There will be more on the topic in the future).

Living rooms are one of my favourite things to do. I can go into any sort of living area and nearly quickly picture what it requires. Maybe it’s because bedrooms are generally simply a box, and a little one at that, that my thinking is limited. I’m just having a hard time coming up with creative bedroom decor ideas. But one notion in particular has piqued my interest during my late-night browsing — so much so that I felt compelled to write this essay for you.

Wall-to-wall headboards are my most recent Idea to Steal (and the one I’m attempting to persuade my husband to let me do in the Coastal Cottage).

This style is also known as a bed ledge. Wall-to-wall headboards may be used in a variety of ways. It’s a simple method to give your bedroom a new colour, wood tone, or texture. The wall-to-wall headboard may also be used to hold bedside tables and illumination, conserving room and keeping things simple.

The difficult part about making a wall-to-wall headboard is actually making one. This isn’t a store-bought remedy. To make anything that works, you’ll most likely need to hire a carpenter or be really diligent with your DIY projects. Simple wood and even particle board variants don’t appear to be too scary. However, slatted wall-to-wall headboards or variations with greater design intricacy may necessitate the assistance of a professional. I believe the investment is worthwhile.
